Join Dilys Harlow and Andrew Leonard as they lead this energetic 11.5 mile walk from Gilfach car park, passing through the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust Reserve before following ancient routes that cross the hills between the Wye and Elan and return along the Wye Valley Walk.

The artist John Piper created atmospheric images of the English landscape & its architecture. Using his work as inspiration Jenny O'Leary will teach you how to use the technique of batik – hot wax resist working on tissue paper & found papers with bleach & inks to create atmospheric textures & effects.

No experience is necessary as the technique will be taught from scratch. A number of samples will be created during the workshop.

To celebrate the Festival of Archaeology (13 - 28 July), Jenny Hall and Paul Sambrook of TRYSOR Archaeology will be leading a pleasant, early evening walk from Nantgwyllt Church to the Cwm Elan Lead Mine.
A 5 mile round trip. Moderate walk on footpaths. Meet at Nantgwyllt Church car park.

Join our Rangers at one of our Dam Open Days - a chance to venture into Pen y Garreg Dam & up to the central tower.

Park at Penbont car park & take a walk through the woodland, up the steps to the dam entrance. There is no need to book, simply turn up anytime between 1pm & 4pm.

There are steps inside the dam which may be wet & in some areas there are low light levels. Children should be carefully supervised at all times.

Entry: £5 adults, £1 for those aged 16 and under with half of all proceeds going to our chosen charity - WaterAid. Please note that we can only accept cash, no cards.

This course is designed for adults only, you must be 18 or older to attend. Suitable for beginners or those who’ve carved before and want to improve.

Learn to carve greenwood spoons using traditional tools. We’ll cover a range of safe carving techniques with axe, straight knife & hook knife. We will look at different types of wood and their properties.

All tools and materials provided. A packed lunch can be provided at additional cost.
