Williams | Thorne | Holmes is a new, exciting trumpet led trio. The trio format has long been an established format but this band pushes the boundaries of traditional jazz by bringing in influences from Welsh folk, minimalism and spiritual jazz.
Tomos Williams (Trumpet) has worked internationally with the Indo-Welsh fusion group Khamira, inspired audiences with his thought provoking ‘Cwmwl Tystion’ projects and reimagined Traditional Welsh Folk music with ‘Burum’. Aidan Thorne (Double Bass) has worked with Williams for years, he leads his own ground-breaking band ‘Duski’ as well as exploring the Welsh landscape in duo projects with guitarists Toby Hay and Jason Ball. Matt Holmes is a rising star and one of the names to look out for on the UK jazz scene. Equally comfortable performing in small groups or driving big bands, composing new music or performing standards Matt has shared the stage with many jazz heavyweights such as Hermeto Pascoal and Tony Kofi and has toured internationally with harpist Alina Bzhezhinska.
