Angela is a local artist from Pontrhydfendigaid who works in a variety of media.

For some time now her work has been strongly influenced by imagery of the Cosmos and she is excited to be exhibiting in the Elan Valley, that now has Dark Sky Status.

Much of her recent work has drawn inspiration from these nocturnal landscapes.

Batik workshop - seedpods and natural forms

Batik workshop - seedpods and natural forms

Use the beautiful shapes of seedpods and various plant forms as inspiration to create batiks on tissue paper.

Artist Jenny O'Leary will help you to use the beautiful shapes of seedpods and various plant forms as inspiration to create batiks on tissue paper.

Working with hot wax as a resist we will use bleach and inks to create a selection of imaginative interpretations of the theme. Work will be suitable for framing, and can also be added to with stitch at a later date.

Places are limited, so please book in advance.

£60 per person, payable in advance.

Dambusters Walk

A 4 mile guided walk including the remains of Nant y Gro Dam

A 4 mile guided walk to learn about the area, including the remains of Nant y Gro Dam which was used for tests before the WW2 Dambusters Raid.

There is a steep climb of 40 metres up the steps to the top of the dam and then a very steep 140 metre climb.

Meet at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre at 2pm, back about 5pm.

Cost: £5 adults, £1 for 16 years and under, half of proceeds to WaterAid. Cash only at the dam, card payments can be made at Centre.

Join our Rangers at our Dam Open Day - an exclusive chance to venture into Pen y Garreg Dam! Open between 1pm and 4pm.

Join our Rangers at our Dam Open Day - an exclusive chance to venture into Pen y Garreg Dam and up to the central tower. Open between 1pm and 4pm.
Park at Penbont car park & take a walk through the woodland, up the steps to the dam entrance. There are steps inside the dam which may be wet & in some areas there are low light levels. Children must be carefully supervised at all times. Dogs welcome on short leads.
Entry is £5 for adults & £1 for those aged 16 and under, with half of all proceeds going to WaterAid.
