Become an ask me ambassador and join a community against domestic abuse

Welsh Women’s Aid are looking for community members in Powys to join our “ask me” scheme and create communities against domestic abuse. The “ask me” scheme will train members of the community to become ask me ambassadors. The training will increase your awareness of what a helpful response to domestic abuse looks like, and give you the knowledge and skills to signpost people towards the specialist help they need. It is a FREE 2 day training course worth 12 CPD points. For more info contact askme@womensaid.org.uk.

Our Visitor Centre is packed with over 20 local crafters and artists offering; handmade jewellery, wildlife photographs, wooden crafts, paintings, craft demonstrations, willow basket making, up-cycled garden art, natural homemade remedies & teas and traditional welsh pottery.

Parents browse at your leisure thanks to our children’s craft table. Open from 10am until 4pm at the Visitor Centre.

Heritage expert Cy Griffiths, Director of the Council for British Archaeology Wales, will lead two walks on the 27th of May to help you learn more about Gilfach's past. There will be a walk at 10am & a walk at 2pm. Meet at the Pont Marteg car park, which is at the entrance to the reserve, just off the A470.
